Make a study group

How-to Updated 8 Oct 2026

Gather the players you study with into a group on the website, so you can share hands with all of them at once.

A study group is a list of PokerLens accounts you share hands with — your coach, your students, or the friends you go over sessions with. Once a group exists, you can share hands with only its members in one step. Groups are made and managed on the PokerLens website.

1

Open Study groups on your account page

Sign in at pokerlenshud.com, open your account, and choose Study groups in the menu on the left. You'll see every group you're in.

2

Make a group

Under Make a group, type a Name (up to 80 letters) and click Make it. The group appears in the list with you as its owner.

3

Add members

On your group, type a person's email under Their email and click Add. Use the email they signed up to the PokerLens website with — they need an account of their own first. Add each member the same way.

A group can hold up to 100 members. Each group shows how many are in it, and lists every member by email.

Only the owner can add or remove members. To take someone out, click Remove beside their email.

4

Share hands with the group

In PokerLens, right-click a hand and choose Share hand… or Share all these hands…. In the Share hands window, tick Only a study group and pick the group. Only its members can open the link — they'll be asked to sign in first. See Share hands with a link.

You can also give an existing link to a group later: on your account page, open Shared hands, set Who may open it to A study group, choose the group and click Save.

Leave or disband a group

  • Leave — if you're a member, click Leave on the group. Links shared with that group stop opening for you.
  • Disband — if you're the owner, click Disband to end the group. Hands shared with it then open for nobody. The owner can't leave their own group; disband it instead.

If it doesn't work

  • "No account has that email. They make one first." The person needs to create a PokerLens website account, then you can add them.
  • "They are already in the group." That person is already a member.
  • "The group is full." The group has reached its limit of members.
  • "Only the group's owner can do that." Ask the owner to add or remove members.
  • "Name the group in eighty letters or fewer." Shorten the name, or enter one if the box was empty.
  • The group isn't offered in the Share hands window. Make sure PokerLens is signed in (account card › Profile) with the same account, and that you're a member of the group.
