Save, export and share a report

How-to Updated 8 Oct 2026

Write a report to a spreadsheet, keep it as a file, and open a report a friend sent you.

Three buttons at the top right of the Reports screen take a report out of PokerLens and bring one back in: Export writes a spreadsheet file, Save report writes a PokerLens report file (.plrpt), and Import opens a report file. Each acts on the report that is showing, and is grayed out where it does not apply.

Export a report to a spreadsheet

Open the report you want, set the filter bar, and press Export. Choose a folder and a file name, and press Save. PokerLens writes a comma-separated values (.csv) file you can open in Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice.

  • From the Hand report, the file holds every hand that matches the filter — not only the page on screen — with the columns you have ticked under Columns, in the order you sorted by.
  • From the Player or Multi-Player report, it holds the figures as they are drawn in the table.

The file is written for your computer: the column headings are in the language PokerLens is in, numbers use your own decimal mark, and the fields are divided by your system's list separator, so your spreadsheet opens it correctly. Cards, seats and lines stay in poker's own letters (AsKs, BTN).

When the file has been written, a note beside the buttons says Written to and where it went.

2

Save a report as a file

Press Save report and choose where to keep it. What goes into the .plrpt file depends on the tab:

  • Player — the report itself: its statistics, how its rows are cut, and the conditions on the filter bar.
  • Multi-Player — the report, its pool requirements, the action line and your layout.
  • Hand — the hands as they appear in the table, for your own records. A file saved from the Hand report cannot be opened again as a report.

Save report and Export open the same save window — they only start on a different file type. Whatever type you end up choosing in the window is what is written. A name with no extension is saved as a .csv.

3

Share it with a friend

Send the .plrpt file however you like — email, chat, a shared folder. A Player or Multi-Player report file carries no figures and no hands, only the question the report asks. When your friend opens it, it is measured again over their hands, and a Multi-Player pool is filled with the players in their database. Nothing about the players you have met travels with it.

To share statistics you have written together with reports built on them, use a statistic pack instead. See Share statistics with statistic packs.

4

Open a report someone sent you

  1. Go to Reports and choose the matching tab — Player for a player report, Multi-Player for a pool report.
  2. Press Import and choose the .plrpt file.
  3. The report opens with its statistics, filter and (for a pool report) its pool, action line and layout, measured over your own hands.

To keep it in PokerLens, press Keep and give it a name.

If it doesn't work

  • "The file could not be written. It may be open in something else." — close the file in your spreadsheet program and try again.
  • "This file holds the hands a report was written out with, not a report you can open again." — the file was saved from the Hand report. Open it in a text editor or keep it as a record; it cannot be imported.
  • "This file holds a report over a pool of players…" or "…a report over one player…" — you are on the wrong tab. Switch between Player and Multi-Player and press Import again.
  • "This file was written by a later version…" — update PokerLens. See Keep PokerLens up to date.
  • "This report was narrowed by something this version no longer offers" — the report used a filter or requirement this version cannot put back, so it is not opened at all rather than opened with a different meaning.
  • If some statistics are missing, PokerLens says how many were left out — usually custom statistics your friend wrote that you do not have.
