Write a note from the felt
Keep a read on a player without leaving the table, and see it every time you meet them.
A good read is worth keeping. PokerLens lets you write a note on any player straight from their HUD panel, tied to the hand you saw it in if you like, and shows it to you every time you sit with them again.
Right-click the player's panel
At the table, right-click the HUD panel of the player you want to write about. The menu offers three ways to start a note:
- Note this hand: a note on the hand being played right now. It is only offered while a hand with this player in it is on the table.
- Note last hand: a note on the last hand that finished at this table with this player in it.
- Add a note: a note on the player alone, not tied to any hand.
The same menu also has Notes…, which opens the player's notes to read, and Marker, for setting a color marker.
Note this hand captures how the hand stood when you pressed it: the street, the board, the player's line so far and the bet they were facing. Pressing it at the moment something happens saves you describing the spot yourself.
Write the note
The player's Notes window opens on top of your tables, with a new note started and the cursor already in the box. A note started on a hand is marked On this hand.
Type what you saw. Press Enter to start a new line. A note can be up to 1,000 characters, and a counter shows how many you have left.
Keep it
Press Keep, or Ctrl+Enter. To throw the draft away instead, press Discard or Esc. With no draft open, Esc closes the window.
The note appears in the list under the draft, newest first, and the player's panel is updated straight away.
See your notes at the table
Every HUD panel has a notes icon beside the player's name:
- It shows how many notes you have on that player.
- Hover over it to read your latest note without opening anything.
- Click it to open all of that player's notes.
A player with no notes says No notes yet — right-click to add one. Notes older than the period you chose in settings are treated as stale: they aren't counted on the icon or shown on hover. See Find and edit your notes for how that works.
Replay the hand behind a note
In the notes window, a note taken on a hand has a play button. Click it (Open the hand in the replayer) to watch the hand again in the Hand Replayer.
Other places to add a note
On the Session screen, open a player you have met tonight and use Add note under their figures. Every note you write, wherever you write it, is also on the Notes screen on the rail.
If it doesn't work
- Note this hand is missing from the menu: it needs a hand in progress with that player in it, at a table PokerLens is following live. Use Note last hand once the hand is over, or Add a note.
- The notes window opens in the middle of the screen: that is where it opens for now. Drag it wherever you like; each player has one notes window, and asking again brings the same one to the front.
