Find and edit your notes
Search every note you have written, by player name or by any word in a note.
Every note you write at the table is kept in one place, the Notes screen. From there you can search them, change them, delete the ones that are no longer true, and decide how long a note stays fresh.
Open the Notes screen
Click Notes under LIBRARY on the rail. On the left is everybody you have written about, newest first. If you haven't written any notes yet, the screen tells you how to take one: right-click a panel at the table. See Write a note from the felt.
Search by name or by any word
Type in the Search a name, or any word in a note box. The search looks at players' names and at every word in every note, so searching rivers finds everybody you noted as bluffing rivers, and searching part of a name finds that player.
If nothing matches, the screen says Nobody matches that. Try another word.
Choose a player
Click a player in the list. Their notes open on the right, newest first, exactly as they look in the notes window you open from the table. From here you can also press Add a note to write a new one.
Edit a note
Click into a note's text and change it. A counter shows how many of the 1,000 characters you have left. Press Save, or Ctrl+Enter, to keep the change. An edited note is marked edited, and it moves to the top because notes are listed by when they were last changed.
Delete a note
Click the bin beside a note (Delete this note) to remove it.
A note taken on a hand has a play button. Click it to open that hand in the Hand Replayer and check whether the read still holds before you edit or delete it.
Choose when notes go stale
Players change, and a read from two years ago can do more harm than good. So PokerLens lets a note go stale after a while.
To choose how long, click Settings on the rail, open General, and find the Notes panel. Pick one of:
- 3 months
- 6 months
- 1 year (the default)
- 2 years
- Never
A note goes stale once it hasn't been written or edited for that long. A stale note is:
- kept: nothing is ever deleted for being old, and it still appears on the Notes screen and in the notes window, faded and marked Stale;
- not counted in the notes icon on the player's panel at the table;
- not shown when you hover over that icon, so an old read is never mistaken for a fresh one.
If a player only has stale notes, the icon at the table says Only stale notes — click to read them.
Editing a note renews it. If an old read is still true, open it, make any change, and save: it counts as fresh again from today. Choose Never if you want every note to stay fresh forever.
If it doesn't work
- A note I know I wrote isn't on the hover at the table: it has probably gone stale. Click the icon to read every note, or change the period under Settings › General › Notes.
- A player is missing from the list: the list only shows players you have written at least one note about. To look up any player, use the Search players box at the top of the rail. See Find a player.
