Import from Hand2Note or DriveHUD
Bring your Hand2Note or DriveHUD history into PokerLens.
If you've been using Hand2Note or DriveHUD, you can bring the hands it holds into PokerLens, so your HUD and reports start out with your whole history. PokerLens reads the tracker's own files directly; you don't need to export anything first.
Open Import Hands
Click Import Hands on the rail, under Setup. The Where the hands are panel lists the trackers PokerLens can import from, and says under each whether it was Found on this machine or Not found on this machine.
Choose your tracker and point to its hands
Click Hand2Note or DriveHUD. PokerLens fills in where the hands are from the tracker's own settings, and lists every place it found next to Use: — click the one you want.
- Hand2Note keeps its hands in a folder of its own. The Store folder is the folder that holds Hand2Note's
handsfolder. If you have more than one store (an old one and a current one, for example), both are offered, with the most recently used first. - DriveHUD keeps its hands in one file. The Database file is
drivehud.db. DriveHUD 2 and DriveHUD 3 are both supported.
If the path is wrong or empty, click Find and choose the folder or file yourself.
Close Hand2Note or DriveHUD before you import, so it isn't writing to its files while PokerLens reads them. PokerLens only reads them; it never changes them.
Test the connection
Click Test connection. PokerLens tells you how many hands it found there, or says It could not be reached and why.
Choose what to bring in
Under What to bring in:
- Period — Everything, Last 30 days, Last 3 months, Last 6 months, Last 12 months, or Between two dates you choose (both days are included).
- Games — Both, Cash or Tournaments.
Start the import
Read the line above the button — reports won't be available until the import has been fully processed — then click Start.
The Importing hands window shows how many hands have been read, how many were Kept, Already held and Set aside, and the estimated time remaining. Once the hands are in, it moves on to Updating statistics…. Click Close when it says Done.
You can click Stop at any time. Everything kept up to that point stays kept, and running the import again later skips the hands you already have.
What the numbers mean
- Kept — hands added to your PokerLens database.
- Already held — hands PokerLens already had. They aren't added twice.
- Set aside — hands PokerLens can't read yet, usually because they're from a site it doesn't read hand histories for yet. They're kept to one side, not thrown away, so a later version can read them.
While it's processing
You can keep using PokerLens. The Statistics screen works as normal, while the Reports screen shows Reports are waiting on your import, with the step it's on, a progress bar and the time remaining. When the import is fully processed, your report opens by itself.
On a Small Stakes license, a database holds up to 200,000 hands; once it's full, no more hands are kept. For a bigger history, import during your 30-day Pro trial or on Pro, or choose a shorter Period. See Small Stakes, Pro and your trial.
If it doesn't work
- Your tracker shows Not found on this machine. Click Find and point to the folder (Hand2Note) or the
drivehud.dbfile (DriveHUD) yourself. - It could not be reached. Check that the path is right and that the file or folder still exists. For DriveHUD, make sure you chose
drivehud.dbitself. - Lots of hands were set aside. Those are hands from sites PokerLens can't read yet. They're kept, and will be read once PokerLens learns that site's format.
Notes from Hand2Note and DriveHUD aren't imported yet — only hands.
