Share hands with a link
Send one hand or a whole list to a friend or coach as a web link, with every opponent's name hidden.
You can turn any hand — or a whole list of them — into a link that opens in a web browser, where it plays back step by step just like the Hand Replayer. Every opponent's name is hidden on your computer before anything is sent, and you decide who may open the link.
Hands are shared from your PokerLens account, so make sure you're signed in first: click the account card at the bottom of the rail and choose Profile. See Sign in to PokerLens.
Right-click a hand and choose Share
Right-click a hand anywhere PokerLens lists hands and choose one of:
- Share hand… — just this hand.
- Share all these hands… — every hand in the list you're looking at.
You'll find these on the Session screen's hands table, the Marked Hands screen, the hand report and the hands behind a figure in Reports, your notes on a player, and in the Hand Replayer (right-click the table or a hand in the list).
The Share hands window opens and tells you how many hands are going.
Check how the players will read
Every opponent is always hidden. Under How the players will read, you can see each real name and the stand-in it will be shown as — Player 1, Player 2 and so on. The same player keeps the same number across all the hands in one link.
Your own name is kept unless you tick Hide my own name; then your seat reads as a player number too.
Choose whether to send your notes
Tick Send my notes on these players to include your notes on the players in these hands. Each note goes under the player's number, and any player name PokerLens recognizes inside a note is replaced with that player's number too. The notes that will go are listed so you can read them first.
Read your notes before you send them. A name PokerLens can't recognize — a nickname or a misspelling — goes exactly as you wrote it.
If you have no notes on these players, the window says so.
Choose who may open it
By default, anyone with the link can open it. To limit it, tick one of:
- Only the people I name — type the email address each person signed up to the PokerLens website with.
- Only a study group — pick one of your study groups from the list. Only its members can open the link. Groups are made on the website; see Make a study group.
You can change this later on the website.
Name it and share
Under Call it, give the link a name if you like — it's shown as the title when the link is opened. Then click Share.
When Your link is ready appears, click Copy link to put it on your clipboard, or Open in browser to see it yourself. Click Close when you're done.
What the person you send it to sees
The link opens a web replayer on the PokerLens website. The hands are listed down the side; for each one they can step through the action with First, Back, Forward and Last, or skip straight to Preflop, Flop, Turn or River. Any notes you sent are shown beside the table under Notes.
If the link is only for named people or a study group, they're asked to sign in first. Someone signed in with an account the link wasn't shared with sees These hands were not shared with you.
Manage your links on the website
Sign in at pokerlenshud.com, open your account and choose Shared hands. There you'll see:
- This month — how many hands you have left to share this month under your plan.
- Every link you've made, with its name, how many hands it holds and who may open it.
- Open to view it, and Delete to take it away — the link stops working and the hands behind it are removed.
- Who may open it — switch between Anyone with the link, Only the accounts I name (with Their emails) and A study group, then click Save.
If it doesn't work
- "Sign in on the License screen first." Sign in from your Profile (the account card at the bottom of the rail), then try again.
- "The website does not know your license key." Sign out and sign in again from your Profile.
- "That would pass this month's hand allowance." Each plan can share a certain number of hands a month. Share fewer hands, or wait for next month. You can see what's left under Shared hands on your account page.
- "Name at least one account, each by its email." You chose Only the people I name but didn't enter an email.
- "Choose a study group you are in." Pick a group from the list, or make one on the website first.
- "The website found an opponent's name still showing, so nothing was shared." or "One of the hands could not be read" — nothing was sent. Try sharing the hands without the one causing trouble.
- "The website could not be reached." Check your internet connection and try again in a moment.
A link can hold up to 5,000 hands.
